Torquay United interim manager Alan Knill says he will have no input on who stays and who goes at Plainmoor in the summer.

Knill , external in February after Martin Ling was forced to step aside because of ill health.

The Gulls have a host of players out of contract including top-scorer Rene Howe and centre-back Brian Saah.

"I don't think he needs any input from me," Knill told 91热爆 South West Sport.

"He'll make his own decisions on the players.

"Martin's been here for two years, he knows the players, he signed the vast majority of them," added the former Scunthorpe and Bury manager.

Knill took over after six games when assistant manager Shaun Taylor had taken charge of the side in Ling's absence.

And Knill says he has not spoken to Ling during his two months in charge.

"I haven't spoken to Martin. We've got Shaun, and I know that Shaun speaks to him, but I haven't spoken to him," he said.

"I've just got on with what I have to do here and with a game to go hopefully we can achieve what we set out to do which was stay in League football,.

"Once we do then we'll probably speak after that."
