Bradford 4-1 Bristol Rovers

  • Published

Bradford thrashed Bristol Rovers and regained their place in the play-offs.

Nahki Wells headed the hosts ahead after five minutes and then converted a penalty, awarded after Fabian Broghammer felled Ricky Ravenhill.

Andrew Davies nodded in to an empty net to make it 3-0 at half-time.

Tom Hitchcock's shot went in off the post to earn Rovers a consolation, before Garry Thompson met Wells' through pass to restore Bradford's three-goal advantage.

The result means the Bantams leapfrog Exeter in to seventh place in the standings, while John Ward's Rovers, who were bottom of the league in January, remain 11th.

Ward recognises Bradford quality

"The best team has won the game. They were stronger and quicker, particularly in the first period.

"We're disappointed because we made errors but we've been pressed into those errors.

"There were individual mistakes but to be fair to the boys they've put their hands up.

"I have no grumbles about the way my boys went about it and hopefully the young ones will learn from it."
