Derry City manager Declan Devine faces a number of selection dilemmas ahead of Friday night's Premier Division game against Shelbourne at the Brandywell.

The Candystripes boss was without eight players for Sunday's league win over Cork City at Turner's Cross but several are back in contention to face Shels.

Shane and Patrick McEleney return after the death of their grandfather.

Dermot McCaffrey, Barry McNamee and Paddy Kavanagh are back but Stewart Greacen and Kevin Deery are doubtful.

Derry have seven points from their opening four games and are at home to Bray Wanderers on Easter Monday afternoon.

Devine's side are second in the table, five points behind leaders Sligo Rovers, who have won each of their opening four matches.

"Shelbourne will be strong. They got a good result at home against Shamrock Rovers last weekend and, of course, they will hope to build on that at the Brandywell," said Devine.

"They will be firing on all cylinders and I think it's fair to suggest that there has been very little between the sides over recent seasons and they will be determined to get a result."
