Inter Milan have been fined 拢38,000 by Uefa for the improper conduct of their fans during a Europa League game against Tottenham at the San Siro.

Monkey chants were reported during the second leg of the round-of-16 tie on 14 March and an inflatable banana was seen in the crowd as Spurs won through.

Uefa also accused the Italians of "insufficient organisation" and "throwing of missiles".

Emmanuel Adebayor scored the crucial away goal in Tottenham's 4-1 defeat.

The tie finished 4-4 on aggregate but Spurs progressed to the quarter-finals on away goals after the Togo striker's extra-time goal.

Andre Villas-Boas's side exited in the next round after a penalty shoot-out defeat by Basel following another 4-4 aggregate draw.

Inter have already been fined 拢43,000 (50,000 euros) by Serie A officials this season after their fans were found guilty of racially abusing former Inter players Mario Balotelli and Sulley Muntari, who now play for AC Milan, in February's derby.

And earlier this season Lazio were fined by Uefa on two separate occasions for the behaviour of their fans, including racist chanting, during Europa League group matches against Spurs.
