- Published
Oxford United striker James Constable has been given a four-match suspension after having his red card appeal rejected by the Football Association.
The 28-year-old was sent off for an alleged elbow on Will Antwi in the 3-0 win over AFC Wimbledon on 29 December.
Constable, who has six goals from his last nine matches, will now miss the FA Cup game against Sheffield United.
He misses the Johnstone's Paint Trophy area semi-final with Southend and games against Bradford and Rotherham.
The former U's captain "Absolutely gutted to be missing the next four games, would love to say a lot more, but won't! Will come back stronger!"
