Liam Boyce scored twice as Cliftonville stormed back to the top of the Irish Premiership with an emphatic home win over Dungannon Swifts.

Joe Gormley's 10th of the season gave the Reds an early lead and Boyce's cool finish in the 41st minute made it 2-0.

Boyce also moved into double figures for goals this term when he punished a mistake by defender Adam McMinn.

Martin Donnelly bagged Cliftonville's fourth before ex-Solitude striker Stephen O'Neill netted for the Swifts.

O'Neill struck with a fine volley in the 82nd minute but it was mere consolation for a well-beaten Dungannon.

"Dungannon are a good team, so to come away with a 4-1 win says a lot for our team," said Cliftonville midfielder Barry Johnston.

"The first goal was always going to be important.

"Up front, Joe and Liam have a great understanding. Give them a few chances and they will take them.

"The manager has put together a good squad and this is the strongest bench I have seen at Cliftonville."
