Ballymena United beat Lisburn Distillery 2-0 in the Premiership

Ballymena have moved top of the Premiership thanks to this deserved win over basement club Distillery.

A controversial goal put United ahead just before the break, when referee Colin Burns ordered a free-kick to be retaken as he didn't blow his whistle.

The impressive Cushley hit the second effort which deflected off DC's Johnny Harkness and into his own net.

Substitute Neil Lowry sealed the points with a low drive into the bottom corner with two minutes left.

Cushley was the star performer at the Showgrounds and his early free-kick was kept out by keeper Lee Windrum.

Gary Thompson poked just wide after 86 minutes from a Cushley cross although Lowry was soon to secure victory for the Braidmen.

Glenn Ferguson's team sit a point clear of Coleraine at the Premiership summit after two wins and two draws in their opening four games.
