Blackpool's Gary Taylor-Fletcher has urged 21-year-old winger Matt Phillips to be patient in his efforts to become a Premier League player.

Phillips missed a 拢5m bid from Southampton.

But he returned to the Blackpool squad on Tuesday and scored the winning goal in the 2-1 home victory against Leeds.

"He's got to understand that, one day, he will play in the Premier League," said Taylor-Fletcher.

He told 91热爆 Radio Lancashire: "Hopefully it will be next year with us, but if not, he's a young lad and his time will come eventually.

"He missed the game on Saturday, but if he'd have played, all the lads would have believed in him and known he would be there for the full 90 minutes, regardless of what's going on."

Blackpool, who were beaten play-off finalists last season, are the only side in the Championship to have won their first two league matches.

Meanwhile, the Seasiders have completed the double signing of Anderson Banvo and Brice Irie-Bi on one-year deals.

Both players have been on trial at Bloomfield Road after being released by Paris St-Germain and Lille respectively.
