Yorkshire 193-7 (31.3/32 overs) beat Leicestershire 236-8 (50 overs) by three wickets (D/L method)

Andrew Hodd made an unbeaten 69 off 43 balls as Group A leaders Yorkshire won a rain-affected One-Day Cup game against Leicestershire at Grace Road.

The home side slumped to 118-6 batting first, but Matthew Boyce's unbeaten 74 guided them to a total of 236-8.

Yorkshire were 27-2 when rain arrived and were reduced to 91-6 as they chased a revised target of 191 in 32 overs.

But Hodd and Tim Bresnan (24) added 62 and Rich Pyrah hit a six to seal a three-wicket win with three balls left.

The win was Yorkshire's fourth in five games so far and they look a good bet to progress to the quarter-finals.

Rare win for White Rose

Yorkshire's victory was only their third in the last 19 matches against Leicestershire in the 40 or 50-over formats

Leicestershire's innings was built around Boyce, who struck seven fours in his 94 balls, and shared stands of 54 with Tom Wells (24) and 62 with Ben Raine.

Raine's 43 off 35 balls added a final flourish, while Jack Brooks bowled superbly for the visitors, taking 26-2 from his 10 overs.

Yorkshire soon lost in-form openers Alex Less and Adam Lyth in reply and when the rain relented, Kane Williamson followed for 20 on his 24th birthday.

Foxes skipper Scott Styris weighed in with 2-25 with his wily medium-pace, and when Hodd and Bresnan came together, another 101 were needed in less than 12 overs.

Hodd hit eight fours as he raced to fifty off 35 balls and added two more, plus a six, before Pyrah hoisted a ball from Shiv Thakor over the rope to finish it.
