Durham 185 (45 overs) beat Glamorgan 133 (41.1 overs) by 52 runs

Graham Onions took three wickets in one over as Durham beat Glamorgan in a low-scoring One-Day Cup game in Cardiff.

Onions was the second bowler to achieve the feat, with home spinner David Lloyd doing so earlier in the game.

Lloyd claimed 4-10, and Michael Hogan and Dean Cosker took three wickets each as Durham were all out for 185.

But only Jacques Rudolph (61) could resist Onions (4-48) and Paul Collingwood (4-16) as Glamorgan were all out for 133 to lose by 52 runs.

Durham's victory left both sides with two wins out of five from their games so far, and moved them up to fourth in Group A, but neither will look back with much pleasure on some undistinguished batting.

The visitors were going well as Phil Mustard (53) and Calum MacLeod (41) put on 101 for the second wicket, but MacLeod's dismissal, lbw for left-arm spinner Cosker, triggered a collapse with five wickets going down for 30 runs.

Ben Stokes made 49 before he was caught at deep square leg by Hogan off Lloyd, who also sent back John Hastings and Paul Coughlin in the same over.

Having been set only a modest target, Glamorgan never recovered from paceman Onions' triple-wicket maiden which saw Will Bragg caught at point by Stokes and Lloyd bowled from successive deliveries, and Jim Allenby lbw to the final ball.

They slumped to 86-7 with no-one able to provide the support needed by South African opener Rudolph, whose fifty took 89 balls, with only two other batsmen reaching double figures.

Rudolph was eventually deceived by Collingwood's slower ball and feathered a catch to the wicketkeeper.

And the Durham skipper brought the game to an end in the 32nd over when James Harris (17) edged a slip catch to Gareth Breese.
