Hampshire bowled out Glamorgan to claim a narrow 31-run win at the Rose Bowl as they denied the visitors their first victory of the season.

Glamorgan resumed on 53-2, needing a further 210 runs to win, and, after 69 from Aussie opener Marcus North, still looked capable at 212-6.

But their last four wickets went for 19 as they were bowled out for 231.

Kabir Ali (3-42) James Tomlinson (3-45), David Balcombe and Liam Dawson all claimed two final day wickets apiece.

Edward Bevan, 91热爆 Radio Wales: "Glamorgan produced a battling performance over the four days at Southampton, but they still went down by 31 runs to the home team and to remain at the bottom of division two.

"Needing 263 to win, they were in with a chance of victory with Marcus North scoring 69 - his third Championship half-century in four innings - while the middle order also made useful contributions.

"Mark Wallace's team remain bottom, but can take heart from an improved performance, especially as they were without four of their leading players.

"They now have two days to regroup before playing Leicestershire in the next Championship game, which starts at the Swalec Stadium on Tuesday."
