Dear Cowardy Custard You've highlighted a hot fashion debate here. The boutique staff on Point Street advise that encounter suits are usually worn OVER all other clothing, although an attractive headsquare or jaunty tammy can set off the gasmask quite nicely. SuperCrofter will no doubt wear pants outside the suit? Hope this helps. In the meantime, following Arnish's comments on his own blog we're now thinking of job-sharing the GP role on Sula Sgeir and claiming 拢150,000 each plus relocation fees.

Eat guga, don't stop a hallowed tradition. Cook the guga long enough at high temperatures and that should do the virus in. What this method of getting rid of the virus does to the guga's wishbone does not bear thinking. Do puffins have wishbones? I would not want to leave lovers in the lurch [see IBHQ link], pining for authentic native wishbones.

This is brilliant mjc! Any guga that catches bird flu and develops a high temperature could evolve into a new self-cooking variety. Great question about puffin's wishbones.

Well Annie, what is the latest on the Guga front? With the migration season in full swing from Siberia to Alaska, I was thinking it would only be a matter of time before the wild fowl of N.A. got whacked by it, but Ducks Unlimited is not worried: I don't know why not, but they should know. Anyway, I am not too fond of ducks myself. What is your favorite recipe for guga, A.B.? Also, do puffin have wishbones? And what does a puffin taste like? A duck? a quail? or a plain chicken?!

Hello again mjc. Thanks for your interest in the guga. There was a bit of a discussion on the topic in Calumannabel's December blog, entitled 'Guga Recipe sent to us.' It's at http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/islandblogging/blogs/005176/0000005728.shtml#comments Don't know if there are any native birds in New Mexico that you could use as a substitute in recipes. If not you could always try marinating a chamois leather cloth in any commercial lubricant oil to achieve a similar texture. Hope this is of use.
