New year resolution - health & beauty hints wanted

Happy new year to all fellow bloggers, and to the women as well. Hope you had a good time over the festivities. I had a lovely holiday. I got some cosy new bothy boots, a value box of fly-papers and some squirty stuff called CK1. This CK stuff isn’t a patch on the WD40. I've often wondered what happened to WD1-39, but it was well worth the manufacturer's work on early prototypes and those CK people could learn a lot. The CK’s made the door hinges smell funny but hasn’t stopped them squeaking. I also got a tin of Ajax exfoliating talc. This was much more successful, leaving me feeling clean and tingling.

Seeing that it’s a new year I’ve resolved to begin an intensive beauty regime to prepare for the fank and for my Naming and Daming ceremony. I’m aiming for inner health as well as a new look. Murdo John Smith in Cross has some very fit and sassily groomed sheep so I’ll see what we can do with his drench gun and hand shears for starters.

I’ve heard some fancy talk about Spar treatments and would like to give them a go but I don’t think that convenience shops in Ness do anything like that. Maybe the Swainbost Stores could start wrapping the customers in carrageen? I’ll try putting some stones from the mouth of the Dell River in the Raeburn to heat – but I’m not sure what to do with them after that. Any advice anyone?

Katag has made herself ill eating something called Nivea Cream Assortment - she is foaming at the mouth as I type. If you see these steer well clear of them.

I believe CK stands for Calum Kennedy. He did pour a lot of his royalty money into experminenting with sheep dips and the like. He was a great one for his heavy density oils was Calum and he did like adding his mother's perfumes to some of his mixtures. You might have a collector's piece there. Don't go wasting it on your door hinges?

Happy New Year Annie, although many of the bloggers are women, including you... they're not mutually exclusive. I believe after heating the stones you put them in your bed and it keeps the chill blanes at bay (Hot Tip: put the stoned under the ticking in beside the heather to avoid unsightly burns). Beer is good for a shiny mane of glorious hair as you may have heard I posess. Five or six pint of Arran Blonde Ale always makes me, and everyone else, look much better. If you are having a particularly bad hair day a bunnet and a bottle of malt is the very thing and if you want to save your Ajax for special occasions, try shelfish picking on your local nudist beach. That will soon sand blast five years off you and you can get out to the big welks at the end of the sewerage pipe as you will be in the nuddy!

Traditional remedies all under one tarpaulin! Including: Hot Guga theraphy (be slowly massaged with fresh hot Guga's to sooth and realign your Chakra so it fits back under your semmit); Dead Seal Fango Body Wrap ( you will be wrapped in mashed rotten seal intestine mixed with the oose from down the back of the cheese counter to replace all those lost toxins); St Peatez Professional Tan (soak in a luxurious peat bath that leaves a permanent until removed with Ajax body scrub, natural looking through the bottom of a whiskey tumbler tan. Would Annie B be interested in joining this new frightening enterprise. I'm sure HIE will cough up enough for walls and a curtain. We were going to set up at the out flow pipe from the Arran Brewery originally so our valued clients could take the waters but the fank looks like a good place to trial run our interesting range of natural products.

We will be offering grooming tips during March in the lead up to the Dating Festival. Donald's on to the Roddick woman as we speak. I asked Donald about an Oatmeal Scubber but he says no one fitting that description has booked up yet. Strange boy that!

What to do with the stones? Put them through the Bulgari shop window in Swainbost and grab yourself some baubles for a dowry?

Thanks folks. That lot should sort out the footrot and no mistake. Looking forward to the Chronicles of Roddick. Donald doesn't miss a trick does he? I suppose herself must get a discount on her cleaning products and oils from that Vim Diesel company that she writes to. Sunny is up-to-the-minute as usual with her hints and tips. I'd need the Arran Brunette With A Few Auburn Highlights For Limp and Flyaway Ale. Would that be OK?

Well done Mr Bucknell. CK1 was indeed Calum Kennedy's first album! He often talked affectionately about his oily work.

I will nip by the brewery on the way to the longship and pick up a couple of crates while gathering all the other therapies, I'm sure we can obtain the guga on the way and there is always a dead seal handy.

Cheers Sunny. Much appreciated. I'll arrange to have some barrels of Oil of Mingulay delivered for us all. Nudist beaches haven't caught on in Ness yet but I could look for a quiet spot to experiment with taking my oilskin and headsquare off for a shell collecting dermabrasion treatment. Has anyone tried a pebbledash peel?

Pebble Dash Peel - who makes that - Ben and Jerry?

iris murdo from Nails for Gaels Beauty Parlour Habost

I haven't tried the pebble dash but the power washer for cleaning the wheelie bins can get a whole seasons crust off at one go an is really quite invigorating! It's ruined last summers peat bath tan though. As for nudist beaches I've been reliably informed that Arrans' nudist beach is the only one in Scotland. I am shocked and stunned by this and feel a new campaign to make getting sand in uncomfortable places and ones extremities frozen off open to everone.

Sunny from Arran

Guga grease under an Artex wrap takes some beating as an experience. Don't try it at home though - it must be done by an expert beautician as the temperature of the blowlamp is critical.
