What wonderful photos - thank you. Is it possible to capture a glimpse of Hirta from North Uist?
Tom from England
Hi Tom. It certainly is possible to see Hirta (St.Kilda) from the west coast of the island. Its 80km (50miles) but the air here provides good enough visibility to see it about once a week/fortnight? You need to be upstairs or on a wee bit of high ground though, and then you can see it as a distinct triangular shape on the sea horizon. No picture would work from here, but theres a nice pic' on Grimsay blog site Cymro yr yn Alban
