NATIONAL BALLET OF CHINA
Front Row explores the devastating effect Mao's cultural revolution had on ballet in China and how the Chinese national ballet have since evolved to be one of the world's leading dance companies. With Lin Cunxin, author of Mao's Last Dancer, Dr Jackie Sheehan of Nottingham University who is writing a book on the Cultural Revolution, Madame Zhao Ruheng, the director of the National Ballet of China and dance critic, Clement Crisp.
Mao's Last Dancer by Li Cunxin, Fusion Press, is in the shops now.
The National Ballet of China is performing their new ballet Raise the Red Lantern at Sadler's Wells, London from the 11 - 15 November.
