Winifred Dinsdale is a forward-thinking and forthright Inspector in the newly formed Women’s Police Service. Despite not having powers of arrest or a truncheon, she takes her role as moral guardian extremely seriously.
Assigned to Folkestone to quell concerns about the effects of prostitution on the local military, Winifred’s crusade is directed at the local men as much as the women they exploit. This is perhaps why is intimidated by the assertive Mrs. Dinsdale and her subordinate , though it might also be the fact that they are trained in the ancient art of jiu-jitsu.
