Maui
Played by Alexander Tarrant
Eldest son of the prominent Vaipiti family, Maui has recently taken on the management of the pearl farm. Proud and determined, he refuses to ask for help from his father when the family business runs into trouble, preferring to solve the problem his own way.
Tensions and jealousies are aroused between him and his sister Aumea when she starts questioning his competency in the role and, as he falls ever deeper for girlfriend Lara, he starts to question who he can really trust.

About Alexander Tarrant
Alex graduated from Toi Whakaari New Zealand Drama School in 2012.
In 2014, he was cast as Manaaki Kokiri in the New Zealand drama series When We Go to War. Later, Alex scored a role in the popular Kiwi drama series Nothing Trivial.
A passionate theatre practitioner and deviser, Alex performed in the acclaimed Masi: The Conch at the 2012 New Zealand International Arts Festival and has toured globally with Red Leap Theatre’s The Arrival.
He is a keen dancer, rugby fan and proficient Te Reo speaker.
