'It was an avoidable accident'
The widow of a Scottish soldier is demanding answers after her husband was killed at an American airbase in Iraq. Captain Dean Sprouting joined Three Scots, the Black Watch, for a six month tour of Iraq in 2018. He was hit by a forklift truck and killed while out running on the Al Asad military base - he was 46 years old.
In early October, the American soldiers responsible for his death were told charges against them had been dropped. In an exclusive interview with The Nine, his widow Linda likened the case to that of Harry Dunn, a British teenager recently killed in a road crash outside a US airbase in England. The Nine's Carole Erskine reports.
