The ‘fix I need’ to remember my dead father
Amy doesn’t like raw onion, but it was her late father’s favourite accompaniment to food. Since he died a year ago, she eats raw onion a few times a week to feel close to him. She tells Emily Thomas why this sensory ritual through food helps her more than music or memory to feel close to her dad.
