‘You’d be looking at north of £6m’: tank collector
The Normandy Tank Museum is auctioning off its entire collection of tanks, some of which were used on D-Day.
The museum says the decision to sell is down to falling visitor numbers. It is sad news for the museum, but good news for tank collectors.
5 Live spoke to one such collector, Kevin Wheatcroft, who owns his own museum. Kevin told us that he has collected over 80 tanks so far.
He said the “enemy tanks” tend to fetch the most money, some even costing “north of £6million”.
