'Cash for crash' claims targeted
A campaign by Norwich-based insurers Aviva to cut "cash for crash" claims appears to have paid off.
On Wednesday Chancellor George Osborne said it would mean a reduction in driver premiums by 拢40 to 拢50 a year by changing the way that injuries like whiplash were compensated.
Aviva says whiplash accounts for 80% of its injury claims compared to 3% in France.
It means it has to add 拢93 to every premium.
This footage, provided by Aviva, shows a crash that led to the prosecution of the car driver and passengers for trying to engineer a false compensation claim.
