The head of the firm behind Leicestershire and Rutland's Out-of-Hours GP service has apologised to patients - after the service was put into special measures. Inspectors found patients were at risk of harm - due to essential medical equipment being out of date or unavailable - and patients waiting too long to be seen with urgent problems. A report by the Care Quality Commission is now calling for improvements. Leicestershire Police say they've had 8 reports of people being injured, by pavement cyclists in the city over the past year. Many of our pedestrianised zones allow cyclists to use the areas freely. New Walk, however, is a cycle free zone and just yesterday police officers were patrolling the area reminding people not to ride there. Older people in Leicester are learning an ancient Chinese martial art to try to reduce the chances of them suffering a fall. The organisation Age UK has recently found that one in five people over the age of 75 live in fear of falling - and one in 20 even told a survey they're so scared they refuse to leave their home. Age UK is now running Tai Chi classes at its headquarters in Leicester.
