A major incident at the county's two main hospitals which lasted 11 days, extra beds made available to cope with the pressure, double the workload for the team responsible for discharging people....and the busiest EVER day for the out of hours GP service.

That's the reality for Gloucestershire's Health Service in the past few weeks - and over the next few days we're going behind the scenes of the system - from the care in hospital to the care at home....and everything in between.

Today we look at what's being done to prevent people from having to go into hospital where possible.
