Inca agriculture at Moray

The Incas’ ability to produce a variety of crops - even in the harsh, high-altitude environment of the Andes – was one of their greatest achievements. Building on innovations from previous civilisations, they created incredible terraced landscapes like these at Moray. Precise engineering and a deep understanding of their environment allowed them to manipulate the ambient temperature here, and grow warm-weather crops in a cold-weather climate.
