Rural Crime Is Down - But Is Police Response Good Enough?

A Northants farmer who tracked a trailer stolen from his farmyard himself says the police aren't bothered about rural crime. The insurer NFU Mutual cost the county nearly 拢700,000 last year.

A farmer from Northamptonshire who had a trailer stolen from his farmyard says the police aren't bothered about rural crime. Pete Walton farms at Brixworth and tracked down the trailer himself, eventually getting it back.

The insurer NFU Mutual says rural crime is actually down in Northamptonshire, but it still cost the county nearly 拢700,000 last year.
