At its height, Britain ruled over a quarter of the world鈥檚 population, from the wilderness of the Arctic, to the sands of Arabia, and the islands of the Caribbean. But how did the country come to rule over so much land and so many people? And, what is the Empire鈥檚 lasting legacy?
