Transporting Rhondda Coal by Rail - Family History
The Rhondda coal industry produced tons of coal. In early days this coal was transported out of the valley by canal, but later on transportation switched to rail. A Tonypandy girl's family tree is used as evidence of the importance of the railway to transport Rhondda coal.
