Mary, Queen of Scots plots against Elizabeth I
As Elizabeth I's spymaster, Francis Walsingham was determined to bring about Mary's downfall. In 1586, he found Mary was corresponding with a group of Catholics lead by Anthony Babington. The group were plotting the death of Elizabeth, and Mary's involvement would lead to her execution.
