Chief Buthelezi's concerns about power sharing in South Africa
Chief Buthelezi, leader of the Zulu Inkatha party, speaks at a rally. He declares the African National Congress (ANC) does not represent his Zulu people and puts forward the idea of a separate state called Kwazulu Natal. The clip makes clear the divisions between different sections of the African community. Mandela rejects Buthelezi's demands but is slightly evasive on the whole issue. Each man is keen to answer the question he prefers, rather than the one he is faced with. First broadcast in 'Panorama' on 1 February 1993.
