ANC's armed struggle in South Africa
ANC President Oliver Tambo explains the ANC's struggle against the white minority rule government in South Africa. This is then directly contradicted by government minister Roelof Frederik 'Pik' Botha – both sides claim the land is theirs.
The military power of the government is contrasted with the underground army of the ANC, but the key point being made is the determination of each side to fight to the finish. The significance of Mandela to the ANC fighters emerges and then we see a summary of the campaign of violence against installations such as railways, gas and oil refineries and police stations.
First broadcast in 'Panorama' on 15 June 1981.
