ANC leader Nelson Mandela on the importance of non-violent protest
Nelson Mandela explains that protest meetings were not enough to achieve the ANC's aims or to mobilise Africans against apartheid. Once a solid base of support was established, Mandela and the ANC decided to focus on six specific laws in order to maximise their efforts and their impacts. He is very specific on the importance of non-violent methods.
