Stokely Carmichael speaks to a crowd gathered in Greenwood, Mississippi, and sets out what he means by 'Black Power'. He describes the movement as a rejection of white society and values, and calls on African Americans to take over communities in which they are the majority.
Carmichael is then interviewed and explains why the concept of 'Black Power' was introduced. There are unspoken hints about tensions between Carmichael and Martin Luther King. Civil rights leader Andrew Young comments on Martin Luther King鈥檚 response to the term 'Black Power'.
