CRB checks

Inside Out reveals how Criminal Records Bureau checks could be blighting job prospects for people who committed minor offences when they were young.

The Criminal Records Bureau could be blighting job prospects for people who committed minor offences when they were young, according to a 91热爆 Inside Out East investigation.

In one case, a woman who tried to get into a nightclub by using a friend鈥檚 driving licence when she was 17 says her hopes of following a career in nursing have been dashed by that single incident.

But there may be hope for those trapped by their past.

In 2010 the 91热爆 Secretary Theresa May launched a review of the CRB to scale it back to what she called 'Common Sense' levels.

Many of the recommendations made in the review are currently going through the Commons as part of the Protection of Freedoms Bill.
