It's nigh on impossible to film these shy, fast-moving animals close up. So turning the steep terrain to their advantage, the team opted for an HJ40 long lens shot from high up on the opposite mountain. With the lens' 40x magnification capability, the camera has to kept very steady and requires an especially heavy tripod, turning even the basic kit into a 25 kilo pack. The effort of lugging this up the steep mountainside was rewarded by the intimate close ups.
