Life After Life
Norman Bryant was convicted of murder, aged 15, and jailed for life. Now the US Supreme Court has banned mandatory sentences for juveniles and decades later he is leaving prison.
At the age of 15, Norman Bryant was locked up for the rest of his life. In many American states until recently, under-18s convicted of murder were automatically given whole-life sentences. But the US Supreme Court has now banned mandatory sentences for juveniles, and the approximately 2,000 people who were given them have a chance of being freed. This film follows Norman Bryant as he leaves prison for the first time in 30 years.
