Closeted PE teacher Jean Newman is happy in her relationship with her girlfriend Viv, but as the Conservative government tries to introduce Clause 28 into the Local Government Act, which will prohibit 'the promotion of homosexuality', her double life is increasingly under threat - particularly with the arrival of new girl Lois.
