Future proofing mobility & why we should stop asking women why they have no kids

A listener calls asking for help on safe exercising after two falls and loss of confidence, Age NI respond with live physio tips in studio and Caroline Magennis on being childless.

A caller to the show asks for help with her confidence as she's unable to exercise after two bad falls last year. She asked if we could get someone on the show who could talk about exercise and the elderly, how to move more when you have lost your confidence with it? A phone call later to Age NI and Cathy McKeown, head of physiotherapy for the Southern Health & Social Care Trust and Siobhan Casey, head of marketing and business development with Age NI join Lynette.

And why do women who don't want kids get such a bad press? Portadown-born writer and academic Catherine Magennis (who is herself childfree) has written a book, Harpy: A Manifesto for Childfree Women. She and Lynette chat inappropriate questions, why women have to explain themselves and her deliberate use of the image of the harpy, and that women who choose not to have kids are, as Caroline says, seen as 'scary bird women on the edge of society'.
