Northern Ireland Blind Golf
Highlighting the work of the charity Northern Ireland Blind Golf, which promotes health and wellness and inclusion for the visually impaired and blind.
The second in the series of this year’s broadcast appeals focusing on the work of some of Northern Ireland’s charities. Vinny Hurrell is on the golf course at Donaghadee in County Down, where he is being shown some of the skills of being a golf guide. Members of Northern Ireland Blind Golf explain how sighted golfers have been helping those with visual impairment and blindness to participate in the sport.
Vinny hears how some local people have had great success in the sport internationally and about the benefits of being able to play a sport that, without the guides’ help, would have been too difficult. Vinny is challenged to help one of the charity members to play a hole on the course, but he quickly finds it isn’t as easy as it seems!
