Gaming for Good
Steffan Powell celebrates gaming in Wales, finding out why video games aren't necessarily bad for you, and he explores how they're bringing people together in Wales and beyond.
Video Games have existed for over half a century, over 3 billion of us play them worldwide and the average gamer age is 38, so why is this multi billion dollar industry still painted as a bit childish, addictive and even encouraging violence in children? In Gaming for Good 91热爆 Gaming correspondent Steffan Powell goes on a mission to prove these critics wrong by exploring the positives for Welsh gamers.
For 22 year old Auryn in Cardiff gaming helped him in a crisis, psychologist Dr Darren Edwards from the university of Swansea believes educators need to use video games more, so much so he has made his own game designed to help us understand our emotions.
Jumping over to the side mission, Seth a 14 year old in Dinas Powys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, whose physical limitations makes socialising a challenge but gaming helps him connect with friends around the world. Finally Steffan talks with father Matthew in Swansea where gaming has helped him connect with Macsen and Loan, his sons. Macsen has a condition that limits his movement, but accessible gaming has changed his world.
