Dìth luchd-obrach sa Ghearmailt
Tha eòlaichean gnìomhachais a' rabhadh gum faodadh an dìth luchd-obrach cuid de chompanaidhean a chur fodha. Ach a-nis tha an riaghaltas a' tionndadh ri seann fhreagairt, luchd-obrach a thà ladh à thall-thairis. Tha ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹ air a bhith a' cluinntinn an dà chuid bho luchd-fastaidh a th' air an cuingealachadh ri linn cion luchd-obrach, agus bho dhaoine a th' air beatha is cosnadh ùr a lorg san dùthaich.
Còrr is 50 bliadhna air ais thà inig na mìltean mòra à s an Tuirc is ceann a deas na Roinn ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹ a dh'obair dhan Ghearmailt - Gastarbeiter - neo luchd-obrach air aoigheachd, bha an teaghlach aig Ayten Aslan nam measg. An-diugh tha ise na tè-gnothachais shoirbheachail a' ruith companaidh cùraim, ach à s aonais barrachd luchd-obrach chan urrainn dhi a' chompanaidh a leudachadh. Dh'innis ise dhuinn mar a dh'ionnsaich i bho eachdraidh a teaghlaich fhèin, is i an-diugh a' sanasachd air Instagram san Tuirc 'son luchd-obrach.
Am measg an fheadhainn a thà inig thuice tha Dilay Albarak, agus chuala ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹ carson a chur ise a cùl ri beatha phroifeiseanta anns an Tuirc 'son obair dhan chompanaidh aig Ayten.
Tha eaconomaidh na Gearmailt stèidhichte air companaidhean beaga is meadhanach, ach tha dragh ann nach eil taic gu leòr a' tighinn bhon riaghaltas thuca-san gus luchd-obrach a tha a dhìth orra a thà ladh thuca à dùthchannan cèin. Agus leis gu bheil a' Ghearmailt a' farpais le à itichean eile far am bheil feum air luchd-obrach, tha dragh air cuid nach eil na h-atharraichean a' tighinn luath gu leòr.
Labour shortages in Germany
Now the government is trying - not for the first time - to entice foreign workers to boost the labour force. Eorpa has been hearing from employers who've been unable to expand their companies due to staff shortages and from those who have started new lives - and jobs - in Germany.
More than 50 years ago thousands of Gastarbeiter - guest workers - flocked to West Germany to fill jobs and contribute to the country's economic boom. Ayten Aslan's family came then - today she's a successful businesswoman running a care service, but staff shortages mean she's unable to expand her business to take advantage of greater opportunities. She told ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹ how she drew on her own experience and is now advertising on Instagram to attract Turkish workers.
Dilay Albarak is one of those who came, she describes to us why she left behind a professional career in Turkey to start a new life in Berlin, working for Ayten.
Small and medium sized companies make up the backbone of the German economy, but there are concerns that the government isn't doing enough to help them reach out and attract the foreign workers they need. And the reality is that German businesses must compete for that workforce with other countries - and some fear that without faster change they may still lose out.
