02/08/22 Lambeth Conference: Communion and Identity
Rev Dr Isabelle Hamley leads a service from the 2022 Lambeth Conference, with a reflection by the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell.
The Lambeth Conference on Monday was reflecting on Anglican identity, what it means to be this little branch of God鈥檚 Church. Christians come in many different traditions, each with its own identity, its own specific emphases. Each church is part of a much greater whole. To recognise who we are is to recognise that all of us, individually and collectively and part of something bigger than ourselves. It is also to say, human beings are incarnated: we have a history, a place, which we inhabit, which links us with others in ways that shape who we are, what we do, and how we relate.
This morning's service is led by Rev Dr Isabelle Hamley and comes from the 2022 Lambeth Conference. The address is given by the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, with reflections from Bishop Anthony Poggo and Cathrine Ngangira.
