Marking PTSD Awareness Day, the value of writing an ethical will, the wonder of daydreaming and 70 years since Salvador Dali's Christ Of Saint John Of The Cross came to Glasgow
It has been 70 years since one of Scotland鈥檚 best-loved and most controversial masterpieces arrived in the city of Glasgow. Dr Jo Meacock, Curator of British Art at Glasgow Museums, and Father Roddy Johnston, of St Andrew鈥檚 Roman Catholic Church in Rothesay, discuss the appeal and impact of Salvador Dali鈥檚 Christ Of Saint John Of The Cross.
In this week鈥檚 instalment of 100 Scottish Stories, Heather Swinson tells the story of her mother, once an adventurous and enterprising young rower.
Mo Wilde pledged to live solely off foraged food, eating a seasonal wild diet for a year, which she diarised in her book The Wilderness Cure. Our reporter Carol Purcell went to meet Mo, getting straight down to a bit of foraging.
When was the last time you let yourself indulge in a bit of daydreaming? Connie McLaughlin is joined by Matthew Smith, Professor of Health History at the University of Strathclyde, and Father Roddy Johnston to explore the point of daydreaming, as well as the joys and benefits it offers.
Ahead of PTSD Awareness Day, Connie hears about the profound and lasting impact of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, with Michael Byrne who is a Complex PTSD survivor after experiencing multiple traumas and Dr Millia Begum, Director of Trauma Therapy Scotland.
Rabbi Steve Leder shares some life lessons with Connie, including the importance of leaving an ethical will containing reflections on the lives we鈥檝e led and the key moments that have shaped us; the subject of his latest book, For You When I Am Gone: Twelve Essential Questions to Tell a Life Story.
