Johnnie pays tribute to Mark Lanegan who died this week. Mark's involvement in Seattle's alternative rock movement of the early 1990's can't be underestimated. His voice is widely regarded as one of the sounds of a generation. Although he and his first band Screaming Trees didn't quite achieve the same mainstream success as the likes of Nirvana and Pearl Jam, he went on to become one of the most respected collaborators in his field.
Staying with grunge, 'This Week In Rock' looks at a double Grammy win for Soundgarden in '95, with an archive interview clip from the late Chris Cornell, describing the genesis of one of the band's most enduring songs.
Wayne Doyle, frontman for Welsh rockers Scarlet Rebels is choosing his Rock God. The band recently made number 7 in the Official Album Charts with their latest album, 'See Through Blue'. Plus, there are new releases from the Scorpions and Jack White.
