Dozens of people have been killed in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, following two successive landslides. Known for its lush valleys and snow-covered mountains, Kinnaur district in the state is a major contributor to the hydro-power generated in the Himalayan state. Locals blame the construction of these dams for the landslides and are demanding an end to dam building.
