Episode 9
The park may finally get its first emu chick, if the keepers can persuade the male emu to sit on the eggs. Kate spots a wild white-tailed sea eagle visiting the park.
The keepers make an exciting discovery in the emu barn - a clutch of eggs. Could the park finally get its first emu chick? The male emu is supposed to sit on the eggs, but so far this dad hasn't got the memo. Will this year be any different? The keepers are doing everything they can to help the potential parents, but they aren’t keeping their eggs in one basket - they’ve hatched another plan. Some of the eggs have been put in incubators, and there are promising signs.
Elsewhere, it’s touch-and-go again with the rock hyrax babies. Earlier in the series, the keepers were concerned about some lumps on the mum, but now they have another worry - the adult male is attacking the babies. The keepers must quickly find out why. Will harmony ever be restored to this family?
Also, Kate gets the chance to observe an incredible wild visitor to the park – a white-tailed sea eagle – and Jean Johansson helps out with a moth survey.
