Cerys weaves an eclectic playlist around fungi conversations with Merlin Sheldrake and an Afrobeat masterclass from the legendary Dele Sosimi.

Fungi fanatic and biologist Merlin Sheldrake shares his scientific discoveries whilst researching mushrooms. Merlin's background is in plant sciences, microbiology, ecology, and the history and philosophy of science. He received a Ph.D. in tropical ecology from Cambridge University for his work on underground fungal networks in tropical forests in Panama. Last year he published his book Entangled Life : How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds and Shape Our Futures.

Dele Sosimi played keyboards in the founder of Afrobeat Fela鈥檚 Anikulapo-Kuti鈥檚 Egypt 80, blending Nigerian traditional music with African drumming and jazz horns. He also worked with Tony Allen and Femi Kuti. Dele performs with the Afrobeat Orchestra, a 6-9 piece band or as trio and is an educator and instructor in Afrobeat.
