Crete鈥檚 answer to Chablis The 2019 vintage was low in yield which gives more flavour to the wine - fragrant aromas and that zippy clean-as-a-diamond-flavour that works a charm with oily fish like sardines and Mediterranean flavours like tomato. Greece is still totally underrated, and this wine deservedly won a silver medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards. Boutique wine for a bargain price.
Cherry clafoutis with cherry ice cream and chocolate sauce聽The Best Botrytis Semillon, Australia, 2017Morrisons, 拢7.25
Rich and unctuous sticky wine. With a clafoutis you need all that honey-like texture and a big sweet hit to wrap around the fruity flavours. For an alternative, folks at home can look for own-label Botrytis Semillon from Australia, there鈥檚 one for under ten quid in every supermarket.
