Lockdown in Leicester, Asians in the countryside & ‘Big Debate’s Little Debate’

Qasa asks, Is it fair to tighten the lockdown in Leicester while the rest of the country re-opens?

First Qasa gets a round-up of the latest coronavirus news from our reporter Nikesh Rughani. After that we’ll hear from residents and business owners in Leicester, as the city is officially the first to face a local lockdown. Also, Qasa wants to know, is it fair to tighten the lockdown in Leicester while the rest of the country re-opens? As other parts of the UK slowly ease measures, the city is facing stricter rules - Health Secretary Matt Hancock said that it had "10% of all positive cases in the country over the past week”. Then we’ll hear from our reporter Dil Neiyyar who has been looking into the background of the term BAME, which means Black and Ethnic Minority, and why some people are unhappy with it. Plus Mohammed from Mosiac outdoors and Navaratnam Partheeban, a farm vet in Wiltshire, to get their views on an independent review of British national parks carried out Department of Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. It found that BAME groups view the countryside as a ‘very much white environment’. And we have our feature ‘Big Debate’s Little Debate, where we hear from Nayesh Radia, who wants us to talk about whether lockdown has made people reconnect with themselves.
