Episode 5
A change of departments leads physiotherapist Esther to consider quitting the NHS, and paperwork is causing dyslexic occupational therapist Melissa to lose motivation too.
Newly qualified physiotherapist Esther is dreading her forthcoming move from the neurology department to outpatients, and the proposed switch is causing her some worrying health problems. Mentor Sarah battles to keep Esther鈥檚 passion for her patients alive, but after just a few shifts in the new department Esther thinks it could be time to jump ship. When the pair meet, Sarah has feedback from one of Esther鈥檚 patients that, in an emotional moment, makes her realise the huge impact she is having on people鈥檚 lives. But will it be enough to keep her working in the NHS?
Occupational therapist Melissa cares deeply for her patients, but her dyslexia and the demands of essential paperwork means she is losing motivation for her job. There is only so much mentor Sarah can do to help, however, and she is worried that Melissa won鈥檛 take the necessary steps to save her NHS career.
