Episode 2
Grime pioneer Dizzee Rascal joins Jools virtually from his studio to talk through his musical journey and some of the artists that were part of it.
Later… with Jools Holland returns for the second episode in a special and very different series, filmed at Jools’s creative home, his studio in south London.
This week, Jools chats to grime pioneer Dizzee Rascal, who is working on his forthcoming seventh album. The east London rapper joins Jools virtually from his studio to talk through his musical journey and some of the artists that were part of it, illustrated by classic clips from the Later… archive. His choices reflect the diverse array of genres, from indie to grime and jazz, that he not only loves, but have influenced his music. He also recounts tales from his illustrious career, which kicked off with his Mercury Prize winning debut Boy in Da Corner back in 2003.
Each programme still has a focus on new music and artists emerging in this unusual time. This week is no different and features a unique performance by a contemporary artist created especially for the show.
